CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS QUARTERLY UPDATE
4) General Manager Authorized Contracts, Agreements, Etc. — Third Quarter
2024
The Board delegated various authorities to the General Manager via Board Policy
No. BP 037 — Delegation of Authority to General Manager, including the authority to
enter into certain agreements and contracts on behalf of the District. Additionally, the
Board requested an announcement when construction projects have been accepted,
which occurs when the Notice of Completion is recorded with the County Recorder's
Office. The Board also requested notification of certain legal claim settlements.
Following is a recap of each of these items for the period July 1 through September 30,
2024:
The summary includes:
• Professional Agreements between $50,000 — $200,000
• Professional Agreement Revisions that result in new total agreement between $50,000 - $200, 000
• Professional Agreement Revisions between $50,000 - $200,000
• Small Construction/District Project Contracts between $50,000 - $200,000
• Small Construction/District Project Contract Revisions that result in new total agreement between $50,000 - $200, 000
• Small Construction/District Project Contract Revisions between $50,000 - $200,000
All other contracts that are not `professional services" or "District Projects" such as maintenance services, equipment,
chemicals, and supplies, do not require Board approval regardless of dollar amount. The Board approves the annual
budget which includes the expenses that come from these contracts, so these contracts are not included in this report
as they have historically been within staff authority.

OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL
5) Staff to tour wastewater treatment plants in Denmark, October 19-26, 2024
The Water Technology Alliance (WTA), an outreach program by the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Denmark, has a mission of building bridges between the US and Danish water
sectors to exchange valuable knowledge, experience, and technology. Every year, the
WTA, through a variety of wastewater associations, invites US wastewater professionals
to participate in a fact-finding tour to visit and learn lessons from the many wastewater
treatment plants operating in Denmark. The focus of this year's tour is on optimization
and digitization, energy efficiency, and resource recovery, so staff from the California
Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) reached out to invite Optimizations Division
Manager, Nitin Goel, and Resource Recovery Program Manager, Melody LaBella, to
participate from Saturday, October 19 to Saturday, October 26, 2024. Attending this fact-
finding tour will provide Central San with the opportunity to gain insights from industry
experts, network with peers and potential partners, and learn about the latest trends,
technologies, and best practices that could benefit Central San's operation.
Travel expenses, including airfare, hotel accommodations, and most meals will be
covered by the Consulate General of Denmark.
