ENERGY CONSUMPTION
1) Second Quarter Update on Central San's Energy Usage
Central San actively tracks greenhouse (GHG) emissions to optimize the use of energy at
its facilities in the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. The
attached energy dashboard (Attachment 2) contains a breakdown of Central San's energy
usage for the month of June 2024 along with a comparison of the energy used during the
second quarter of the calendar year. The chart shows the cost breakdown of Pacific Gas
and Electric (PG&E) and Marin Clean Energy (MCE) electricity.
OUT-OF-STATE CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE
2) Staff to attend the Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and
Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana — October 5-9, 2024
The 97th Annual Water Environmental Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference
(WEFTEC) will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana from Saturday, October 5, 2024
through Wednesday, October 9, 2024. The following seven Central San employees will
be attending:

WEFTEC is the premier water quality conference which provides state-of-the-art
information. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, technical
sessions, facility tours, and will be able to view exhibits. They will also gain knowledge of
leading trends in recent scientific and technology updates on treatment of pathogens,
reinventions in the pandemic workforce, Asset Management and technology for current
Central San projects that are on the horizon.
Staff attendance at this conference is included in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Technical
Training, Conference and Meetings Budget.

3) Executive Assistant to the General Manager Suzette Crayton to attend the
Administrative Professionals Conference from October 26 - 30, 2024
The Administrative Professionals Conference (APC) will be held at the Gaylord Rockies
Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado from October 26-30, 2024. Executive
Assistant to the General Manager Suzette Crayton has been a member of the American
Society of Administrative Professionals, the largest international association for Executive
Assistants and Administrative Professionals, for over ten years. The conference has
been held for over twenty-five years and brings together the largest and most diverse
collection of administrative professionals from around the world. With training by leading
experts in the profession, APC is considered the premier international training conference
for executive assistants and administrative professionals.
The conference provides the opportunity to delve into best practices, access to
professional trainers, and the chance to make connections with like-minded professionals.
There are multiple training formats, timely topics on technology and efficiency, and best
practices on business communication. There will be the opportunity to participate in
sessions on mastering the art of effective networking, new administrative multi -tools that
are available in Microsoft, and the many usages of Sharepoint. With one of Ms. Crayton's
main duties being overseeing the General Manager's calendar, she will truly benefit from
the session on Beyond the Basics of Strategic Calendar Planning. With the peak use of
artificial intelligence, she will learn how and when to utilize this affective tool also. This is
a conference that is training focused.
Attendance at this conference is included in the FY 2024-25 General Manager budget.
