BAILEY, GENERAL MANAGER SUBJECT: PRESENT THE 2024 EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC INFORMATION & COMMUNICATIONS AWARDS FROM THE CALIFORNIAASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICIALS (CAPIO) Central San has been honored with two first -place 2024 EPIC awards from the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) — the leading statewide organization dedicated to advancing public sector communications. CAP I O is an association of over 900 public sector communicators throughout the state representing agencies including cities, counties, State agencies, transportation authorities, school districts, police, fire, parks, water, and wastewater agencies. The details for both awards are provided below. 1. Central San's Maintenance Access Cover Beautification Project won the Communications or Marketing Plans/Campaigns – In -House category. Communications, CSO, and Engineering collaborated on the ongoing project, which is raising public awareness of essential sewer infrastructure while enhancing environmental protection and creating a positive Central San legacy for the future. 2. Central San's Pipeline customer newsletter won the Newsletter or Magazine category. Distributed twice annually to over 155,000 customer addresses, the Pipeline features pollution prevention resources, capital project updates, kids' activities, news, events, and more.
