Farrell mes .Kelly, ne21 Manager ISSUE: All work has been completed on the Lafayette Sewer Renovations, Phase 6, District Project 5958, and this project can now be closed out. RECOMMENDATION: Close out the project. FINANCIAL IMPACTS: The closeout will result in approximately $7,000 being returned to the Collection System Program. Attachment 1 shows the project expenditures by category. ALTERNATIVES/CONSIDERATIONS: Not applicable. BACKGROUND: The Lafayette Sewer Renovations, Phase 6 project renovated approximately 13,200 linear feet of 6-, 8-, and 12-inch sewer lines in Lafayette. This project was the sixth phase of approximately thirteen phases in Lafayette. Construction of the sewers in easements involved close cooperation with customers for site access and restoration. On June 18, 2009, the Board of Directors authorized the award of a construction contract for this work to Precision Engineering, Inc. The Contractor was issued a Notice to Proceed that was effective July 15, 2009, with a completion date of January 31, 2010. The project was accepted by the Board on April 1, 2010. The original construction contract amount was $1,314,125. There were ten (10) construction change orders issued in the total amount of $194,123. Change orders were issued to address utility conflicts, changed site conditions, and additional urgent work identified after project award by the Collection System Operations Department (CSOD). The total project cost was $2,440,000, which is approximately 0.3 percent lower than the budgeted amount (see Attachment 1 for the Expenditure Summary). RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION: This item is presented to the Board of Directors for information. No action is necessary.
