Announcements CCCSD Achieves Green Business CertificationAgenda Item 3) Board Meeting of April 8, 2010 Written Announcements: Awards/Commendations a) CCCSD Achieves Green Business Certification The District has recently been certified as a green business through the Contra Costa Green Business Program (CCGBP). The certification, which took about a year to complete, involved submitting an application, then completing the following on-site audits: • Solid Waste (completed by Allied Waste staff) • Energy (completed by PG&E staff) • Pollution Prevention (completed by CCCSD Source Control and CCGBP staff) • Water (completed by CCWD staff) • Wastewater Compliance (completed by CCCSD Source Control staff) The most challenging requirements of this process were replacing District toilets with high-efficiency ones and the re-routing of several on-site stormdrains. This certification covers all the buildings and operations at our Imhoff Place location. After the new CSO facility is constructed, staff will pursue certification of that facility. As a new green business, we will be invited to attend two upcoming recognition events: Tuesday, April 20, 2010 -Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors' Recognition Ceremony during their regular Board Meeting (see attached flyer). CCCSD Board President and General Manager requested to attend and accept recognition. Thursday, July 15, 2010 -Association of Bay Area Government's Recognition Ceremony before regular evening Executive Board Meeting and acknowledgement during Executive Board. Meeting.
