1. Aeration Basins Project
Demolition of the concrete plenums has begun, the air leaks in the floor of the tank need to be
addressed prior to pouring new concrete (floor and baffle walls).

Bid item for sealing leaks in the contract, however, staff is negotiating increased bid quantity to cover
the extensive air leaks. $200,000 Work Directive issued to avoid delays. Based on this effort, a request to
the Board will be made to cover the next basin scheduled for May of 2025.

2. Pump Stations Upgrades - Phase 2A

2. Maltby Extra Work - DTS C
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) permit being managed with the
project by Regulatory Compliance Group.
Allowance was added into the bid for $500,000 to mitigate, remove, or include
improvements related to the permit and contaminated soils.
GHD, Inc. hired to help project for air monitoring and provide engineering and
technical assistance.
Excavations and work to date have been very successful.
Capital Projects using the allowance to remove the remaining 5 feet of soils and
install barrier at a cost of roughly $287,000 to prevent future permitting
requirements including monitoring.
No Board action required since the work was anticipated in the contract.

3. Other Projects and items (New Slide)
Solids Handling Facility Improvements Phase 1A:
Contractor staging needs to be expanded. Staff is exploring the possibility to use
the Surcharge pile next to the Contractor Staging yard as an expanded area for the
Solids Project and others. Current estimate is approximately $420,000.
A design change was issued based on the electrical and controls field investigation
work and issued to Overaa last week. Costs and impacts —TBD.
Martinez Urgent Forcemain Replacement:
The UPRR permit requires the use of a certified and federal approved service, Rail
Pros, to assist public agencies to help achieve and implement a successful project.
Service include engineering controls, traffic plans, contractor orientation,
inspection and more. These costs are anticipated to be high and considered a
reimbursable expense to the District contractor. Costs - TBD.
