All of us in Rossmoor were saddened by the passing of David because of his commitment to our community and understanding of our concerns for water security. He will be missed. Central San played such an important role in the Rossmoor sponsored Town Hall on the Future of Water in Central Contra Costa County last October. We are grateful to Central San and EBMUD for contributing outstanding content for central county residents to gain a better understanding of the potential for recycled water in the future. Despite the rain of the past few months we all know how important this issue is for years and droughts to come. During the planning process for the Town Hall we were able to get to know the outstanding expertise of some staff members at both Central San and EBMUD. All of us gained confidence that both organizations are focused on water security and we were very pleased at the level of cooperation between the agencies. When I heard that Florence Wedington was being considered for the opening on the Central San board for our district I was thrilled. We were able to see Florence in action during our planning process for the Town Hall. She exhibited the expertise expected from her position and worked closely with the team to provide for a meaningful Town Hall for our communities. It was exciting to know that Florence lives in our district and brings the knowledge of the Walnut Creek and Rossmoor communities as well as her water security expertise to the table. I endorse Florence Wedington for the Division 3 open seat on the Central San Board. I have no doubt that your board and our community will be well served by her. Wedington Hello President Hockett and Honorable Board Directors of Central San, I am writing to you to express my enthusiastic support for appointment candidate Florence T. Wedington to the currently vacant Division 3 Director seat of the Central San Board. In the nearly twenty years that I have known Ms. Wedington as a co-worker at EBMUD I have observed her disciplined focus on complex solo work projects, as well as demonstrate what it takes to be a great team player ensuring that her tasks are complete while also supporting other team members to collective successful results. It's no wonder, she is managing our Office of Water Recycling today. Florence's volunteer work as an Officer or Board member of professional water industry organizations such as California Water Environment Association, Water Reuse; participation with Asian Pacific Employee Association and Black Employee Network, plus serving as a Floor Warden during high-rise building evacuations at EBMUD have afforded her wonderfully diverse opportunities to develop her quick wit, mindfulness and cool head under pressure. Her academic achievements, career dedication to environmental stewardship & policy, and drive to be of service with and for others are just a few of her layers of leadership that makes Florence Wedington an ideal candidate to serve on the Central San Board of Directors.
