As a past board member for 24 years I have a deep understanding of staff, constituents and the important role Central San has to effectively treat our waste water in an environmentally responsible manner. In my past tenure at the District, I helped drive significant improvements in organizational efficiency and sustainability while providing leadership and effective fiscal results. In addition, my current employment as the General Manager of a large resource recovery park would enable me to continue my environmental career at Central San to ensure sustainability and protect our natural resources. As a former board member and board president of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, I understand the importance of effective governance and strategic planning. Lead a team of 140 to optimize operations for Northern California's largest state-of-the-art recycling Facility, as well as a Transfer/Processing Facility. Own accountability to ensure that all aspects of the business run smoothly,including managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining equipment, and developing strategies to improve profitability. • Develop and manage annual operating budgets to ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with strategic goals. • Hire staff members and set performance goals, resulting in helping the company grow from 20 to 140 employees. • Spearhead and manage the Battery Collection Program which collects approximately 600 pounds of batteries weekly. • Overhauled and retrofitted recycling equipment to ensure the recycling system stays up-to-date with CA standards. • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including safety, productivity,and financial metrics. • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers,vendors,and regulatory agencies.
