BAILEY, GENERAL MANAGER SUBJECT: HOLD A DISCUSSION TO DEVELOP INTERVIEW PROCESS AND ASSIGN SUBJECT CATEGORIES TO BOARD MEMBERS FOR THE DISTRICT 3 BOARD MEMBER APPLICANTS As requested at the March 9, 2023 Special Board meeting, this agenda item is to discuss the interview process for District 3 Board Member applicants. Staff has reviewed individual Board Member questions and have put them into the following specific categories: 1. About yourself (Education, Experience, Focus/ Priorities and Qualities) 2. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice 3. Fiscal Responsibility and Funding 4. Serving the Public (Your Role, Time Commitment, General Aspirations, and Future Plans) 5. Central San's Mission and Scope and Your Vision 6. Working as a Team 7. Running the Business (Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Capital Improvement Projects (CI P), Labor Negotiations) 8. Balancing Competing Interests 9. Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainability It is suggested that: • Each Board Member be assigned to specific categories. • Accordingly, each Board Member would then be allowed to ask the same chosen one question per their category to each applicant. • Each applicant will be given no more than three minutes per question to respond.
