PROJECT UPDATES 2) Public Bidding of Return Activated Sludge (RAS) Piping Renovations, District Project 100051 Over the last 15 years, the Capital Program has been replacing deteriorated sections of the RAS piping at the wastewater treatment plant to ensure reliability to the 50-year-old piping system. In 2019, a detailed condition assessment was completed as part of the Aeration and Blower Systems Renovation Project that identified sections of the RAS piping as being in critical need of replacement to avoid potential leakage into the Final Effluent Channel. The RAS Piping Renovations Project will replace this RAS piping and help protect against possible contamination of the final effluent, as well as remove abandoned piping to improve the work area around the aeration basins. This project will be advertised on January 16 and 23, 2023. The bids will be opened on February 15, 2023. The construction cost is currently estimated at $1.6 million. More information will be presented when the Board is asked to approve the construction contract on April 6, 2023. January 12, 2023 Special Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 57 of 57
