(Handout) From: Central San <webmail@centralsan.org> Sent: August 3, 2022 02:16 PM To: Secretary of the District Subject: SPEAKER/COMMENT CARD ID#1678 - Al Nonymous p-CSLCEWRAL SAN CENTRAL CONTRA COSTADISTRICT 08/03/2022-2:15• • Costa Sanitary District COMMENT/SPEAKER CARD ID#1678 Submitted on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 - 2:15pm I wish to submit a written comment. Board Members of Central San, I wanted to bring to attention the fact that Central San HR and Management have made the call for employees to return to the office effective August 29, 2022. Employees may be allowed to work a telework option assuming their application to do so has been approved by their Supervisor, their Division Manager, their Department Director, HR and the finally the General Manager and that they have completed a Remote Office Safety Checklist (which includes inspection of the home office) and a Home Office Ergonomic Self-Assessment in accordance with the new Teleworking Policy that was distributed July 28, 2022. 1 hope this Board has reviewed this policy as it has generated more than a few concerns from employees and the Unions. would also like to bring to the Board's attention that as of today, August 3rd, 2022, according to the latest info from the Country, the 7- day rolling average for Contra Costa County is still higher that it was at this time in 2021 and in 2020. Every week staff is guaranteed to get e- mails from HR alerting staff to of employees testing positive for COVID- 19. Last week there were 9 the week before there were 6 the week before that 4 and so far this week 3. Who knows how many other employees also had to go home as a result of contact tracing. This Board has for the past few months voted to continue to hold meetings virtually because it is not safe to hold those meetings in person. i If it is not safe for in person board and committee meetings that are only for a few hours then how is it safe to call the employees back for eight hours a day? I believe the call to return to the office should be postponed until the number of new cases is at a safe level and this Board returns to in person meetings. And again, please review the policy for telework as it very concerning, especially with regard to an employee's privacy. Thank you for your time. My speech/comment is about an item on the Agenda. I have provided the Agenda Item Number below.
