Bailey General Manager ISSUE Hold a public hearing to receive comments on the budget for the next fiscal year pursuant to Central San's Board Policy No. BP 048 - Budget. BACKGROUND The annual budget adoption is typically scheduled for the first meeting in June because it will take effect July 1, which is the beginning of Central San's fiscal year. However, due to the 2022 Board and Committee Meeting calendar, the adoption is instead now scheduled for the second meeting in June. The purpose of this item is to schedule and notice a hearing on that date to receive public comments on the proposed Fiscal Year 2022-23 Central San District Budget. Once adopted, the Budget will take effect on July 1, 2022. ALTERNATIVES/CONSIDERATIONS The Board of Directors may decline to establish the recommended public hearing date or may elect to choose a different date. COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION On May 9, 2022, the Finance Committee will review the final draft FY 2022-23 Budget for the individual sub-funds: Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Debt Service and Self-I nsurance. On May 11, 2022 the Engineering & Operations Committee will review the Capital Improvement Budget portion of the final draft FY 2022-23 Budget. RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION Set June 16, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. as the date and time for a public hearing to receive public comment on the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Central San District Budget.
