ISSUE
Ordinance 304 requires that the Board of Directors hold a public hearing prior to the imposition of the
Fiscal Year(FY) 2022-23 SSC rates contained therein.
BACKGROUND
On April 18, 2019, the Board of Directors approved SSC rates for FY 2019-20, FY 2020-21, FY 2021-22,
and FY 2022-23 with the requirement that each subsequent year, it shall consider at a noticed public
hearing prior to June 30, Central San's proposed budget, its financial condition, projected capital and
operations and maintenance costs, as well as other factors which bear on Central San's revenue
requirements to determine whether the increased amounts set forth for each fiscal year are still necessary.
At the Financial Planning Workshop on March 24, 2022, staff will present a schedule, which includes
holding a public hearing on April 21, 2022 to review the proposed increases to SSC rates. The regular
Board of Directors Meeting on April 21 will begin at 2:30 p.m.

ALTERNATIVES/CONSIDERATIONS
The Board of Directors could choose another time or date to hold the public hearing.

None.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
This matter was not reviewed by a Board Committee.
RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION
Set a public hearing for April 21, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. to consider the approved SSC rates for FY 2022-23.
