ISSUE
Board approval is required to amend the Secretary of the District's employment agreement.
BACKGROUND
The employment agreement between the District and Secretary of the District Katherine Young allows for
the Board to consider an adjustment to her salary or benefits in such amounts and to such extent as the
Board may determine is desirable. The Board evaluated Ms. Young's performance as well as salaries and
benefits of comparable positions within the relative labor market and determined an adjustment is
warranted.
It is proposed that, effective September 16, 2021, Ms. Young's annual salary be increased from $152,145
to $162,795, which reflects an increase of seven percent.
Additionally, the Board has determined that Ms. Young will receive a one-time payment of accumulated
Paid Time Off (PTO) equivalent to two hundred (200) hours. Accordingly, her current balance of PTO will
be reduced by two hundred hours.
