HR Report- Second Quarter 2021 July 15, 2021 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 101 of 117 Page 2 of 5 Attachment 1 Board Meeting of July 15, 2021 General Manager Written Announcements HUMAN RESOURCES 1) Central San Welcomes New Engineering Assistant II Vanessa Mota Vanessa Mota joined the Permit Counter as an Engineering Assistant II on June 30. She is a Northern California native, originally from San Jose. Vanessa recently relocated back to the Bay Area from San Diego where she had been living the past nine years. She has been in this industry for about 20 years, working through private sector in various jurisdictions and agencies. Her background includes working in a Community Development Service Counter setting and she is well versed in Building, Planning, Engineering and Plan Check. Vanessa previously worked with Central San as an agency temp in 2018 at the Permit Counter. We are happy to have her as a permanent member of the team. 2) Update on Personnel Actions — Second Quarter 2021 The Human Resources report covering personnel actions for April 1 through June 30, 2021 is provided as Attachment 2. PROJECT UPDATES 3) Public Bidding of North Orinda Sewer Renovations, Phase 8, DP 8463 The North Orinda Sewer Renovations, Phase 8, District Project (DP) 8463 is part of the ongoing Collection System Sewer Renovation Program. This project will renovate approximately 9,900 feet of sewer mains, primarily 6-inch and 8-inch clay sewers, within the city limits of Orinda, north of Highway 24. Construction activities will include open- trench, and pipe-bursting methods within public rights-of-way and private easements. Community outreach has been performed through online resources and will be posted on the District's website. Additionally, notification letters have been sent to the impacted residents and neighborhoods. This project will be advertised on July 19 and 26, 2021 with a bid opening scheduled on August 5, 2021. The Engineer's estimate is $3,800,000. More information will be presented when the Board is asked to award the construction contract on August 19, 2021. Additionally, the Board has requested an announcement when construction projects have been accepted, which occurs when the Notice of Completion is recorded with the County Recorder's Office. Also, the Board has requested notification of certain legal claim settlements.
