ISSUE
A resolution of the Board of Directors (Board) is required to accept a grant of easement for sanitary sewer
easements to convey real property interest to Central San.
BACKGROUND
During construction of District Project 8458, Martinez 6, staff determined that the current rodding inlet (RI)
located in the backyard of 1011 Harbor View Drive, Martinez would be better served with a manhole (MH).
However, there were insufficient easement rights to allow staff to move forward with building a manhole,

approximately a 1 0x1 0 area or 100 square feet, without obtaining the necessary easement rights. The
property owner was contacted by right of way staff and the property owner agreed to grant Central San
additional easement rights.
ALTERNATIVES/CONSIDERATIONS
The Board could decline to accept the Grant of Easement. This alternative is not recommended since
Central San would not have the land rights necessary for its sanitary sewer that is partially outside of
Central San's easement rights.
FINANCIAL IMPACTS
The grant of easement for sewer purposes was acquired for a fee of$1,600.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
The Real Estate, Environmental and Planning Committee reviewed this matter at its meeting on June 14,
2021 and recommended approval.
RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION
Adopt the proposed resolution accepting the executed Grant of Easement and authorizing staff to record
documents with the Contra Costa Recorder.

ACCEPTING A GRANT OF EASEMENT RELATED TO DISTRICT PROJECT 8458
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Central Contra Costa Sanitary
District (Central San) as follows:
THAT Central San hereby accepts a Grant of Easement dated February 20, 2021, from
the following property owner:
Robert H. Martincich, Trustee
1011 Harbor View Drive, Martinez, CA 94553
(APN: 374-176-005)
THAT staff is authorized to record the document in the office of the Recorder of Contra
Costa County.
