HUMAN RESOURCES
1) Central San Welcomes New Staff Engineer Ruben Herrera
Ruben Herrera is the newest member of the Capital Projects Division as a Staff Engineer.
Ruben joined the District on June 1, 2021. He graduated from California Polytechnic
University with a degree in Civil Engineering. For the past seven years, Ruben has
worked as a project engineer on the construction of large water infrastructure projects for
San Diego Water Authority, Metropolitan Water District, and, most recently, Silicon Valley
Clean Water. His strong construction background is a great asset for the Division with the
number and size of projects to be built over the coming years. Ruben looks forward to
contributing to the engineering team and his future with Central San.
ENERGY CONSUMPTION
2) First Quarter Update on Central San's Energy Usage
Central San actively tracks greenhouse (GHG) emissions to optimize the use of energy at
its facilities in the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. The
attached energy dashboard contains a breakdown of Central San's energy usage for the
month of March 2021 along with a comparison of the energy used during the first quarter
of the calendar year. The chart shows the cost breakdown of Pacific Gas and Electric and
Marin Clean Energy electricity.
