Energy Usage Report- September 2020 November 19, 2020 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 116 of 152 Page 2 of 3 ATTACHMENT 1 Board Meeting of November 19, 2020 General Manager Written Announcements HUMAN RESOURCES 1) Central San Welcomes New Employee, Nealsen Cayanan, Staff Engineer Nealsen Cayanan joined Central San as a Staff Engineer in the Engineering and Technical Services Department, Capital Projects Division, effective November 6, 2020. Nealsen graduated from UC Riverside in 2018 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was first hired in Central San's Capital Projects Division as a Co-op in January 2019. After his term as a Co-op, he was hired as a Temporary Staff Engineer and has been working at Central San ever since. He has worked on a variety of projects including collection system, pump station, and treatment plant projects while at the District and has proven to be a valuable asset to the Capital Projects team. ENERGY CONSUMPTION 2) Third Quarter Update on Central San's Energy Usage Central San actively tracks greenhouse (GHG) emissions to optimize the use of energy at its facilities in the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. The attached energy dashboard contains a breakdown of Central San's energy usage for the month of September 2020 along with a comparison of the energy used during the third quarter of the calendar year. The chart shows the cost breakdown of Pacific Gas and Electric and Marin Clean Energy electricity.
