ISSUE
Board approval is required to amend the Secretary of the District's employment agreement.
BACKGROUND
The employment agreement between the District and Secretary of the District Katherine Young allows for
the Board to consider an adjustment to her salary or benefits in such amounts and to such extent as the
Board may determine is desirable. The Board evaluated Ms. Young's performance as well as salaries and
benefits of comparable positions within the relative labor market and determined one adjustment is
warranted.
It is proposed that, effective August 20, 2020, Ms. Young's annual salary be increased from$144,900 to
$152,145, which reflects an increase of five percent. All other provisions of the employment contract, as
amended, would remain unchanged. The proposed amendment is enclosed (Attachment 1).
ALTERNATIVES/CONSIDERATIONS
Deny the adjustments for Ms. Young or propose an alternative change.
