In addition to the rigorous application process, Community Affairs Representative, Ben Lavender, was required to give a presentation that demonstrated Central San's commitment to K-12 education that supports environmental literacy. The California Environmental Education Interagency Network (CEEIN) is a state government consortium of environmental educators representing various statewide departments, boards, and commissions. Through coordination and collaboration, CEEIN's mission is to support member agencies and partners to foster environmental literacy as an essential tool for safeguarding environmental and public health, conserving our natural resources, and preparing Californians to prosper in the 21st century. The CEEIN August 6, 2020 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 79 of 107 Page 3 of 3 Written Announcements August 6, 2020 Page 2 of 2 partnership provides a forum for its members to share resources, programs, and materials with California's public schools and students in kindergarten through university. Members of CEEIN can only be State agencies and of the 25 members includes CA Department of Education, CA Department of Fish and Wildlife, CA Coastal Commission, CA Parks and Recreation Department, and the CA Department of Water Resources. Central San will be one of only approximately a dozen Partner Organizations.
