(Handout) COVID-19 update presentation 05/04/20 Attachment 1 = CENTRAL SAN 'S COVID = 19* RESPONSE ~c�s 1UPDATE - Pandemic Response Team Co-coordinators Emily Barnett, Communications& Government Relations Manager Teji O'Malley, Human Resources Manager May 7, 2020 WORKING UNDER SHELTER Response •4/29/20: Regional Bay Area Shelter-in-Place Orders extended Fto May 31 — some rules ease effective May 4, including: •All construction activities and business that operate primarily outdoors will be allowed to resume as long as complies with safety protocols, • Real estate transactions will resume with some limitations, and • Residential moves and shared outdoor recreational facilities, like parks will open. • Easing of restrictions meant to set stage for gradual resumption of activity without exponential increase in COVID-19 cases • Indicates the success and compliance of the mid-March Bay Area Shelter-in- Place Order •4/29/20: Employee email sent on extended County Order z CFNTPAISAN 1 05/04/20 WORKING UNDER SHELTER „ Response •4/30/20: Special Board meeting — Board authorized negotiators to meet and confer with bargaining units •5/1/20: Employee email from General Manager on how the District will bring employees back to work in the future by: 1. Balancing county, state, federal, and industry guidelines to thoroughly understand requirements and best practices, 2. Ensuring appropriate and sufficient PPE to protect employees and comply with the county's cover-your-face order, 3. Evaluating workspaces and determine how they might be configured to support y social distancing, and 4. Keeping clear and open lines of communication with bargaining units to ensure we are meeting the needs and addressing the concerns of employees. 3 ' WORKING UNDER SHELTER Response •5/1/20: County Health officer authorizes testing and processing by commercial clinical laboratories. •5/1/20: Employee email providing notification, after the meet- and-confer process, that the Board continued the policies currently in place for Central San employees through July 1 , 2020 if needed, to allow for the possibility that the County's order might be further extended. Employees also received new COVID-19-related FAQs.
