Bailey General Manager ISSUE The Board of Directors (Board) must set a date and time for the public hearing on SSC rates. BACKGROUND On April 18, 2019, the Board of Directors approved SSC rates for FY 2019-20, FY 2020-21, FY 2021- 22, and FY 2022-23 with the requirement that each year thereafter, it shall consider, at a noticed public hearing each year prior to June 30, Central San's proposed budget, its financial condition, projected capital and operations and maintenance costs, as well as other factors which bear on Central San's revenue requirements to determine whether the increased amounts set forth for each fiscal year are still necessary. At the Financial Planning Board Workshop on March 12, 2020, the Board was presented with a schedule which included holding a public hearing on April 16, 2020 to review the proposed increases to SSC rates. The regular Board Meeting on April 16 will begin at 1:30 p.m. March 19, 2020 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 28 of 163 AMENDED AGENDA Page 2 of 2 ALT ERNAT IVES/CONSIDERAT IONS A public hearing is required. The Board could consider alternative times for the public hearing to promote public attendance. FINANCIAL IMPACTS None. COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION This matter was not reviewed by a Board Committee. RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION Set public hearing forApril 16, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. to consider the approved SSC rates for FY 2020-21.
