BAILEY, GENERAL MANAGER SUBJECT: RECEIVE INFORMATION ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT SURVEY A key strategic goal for Central San is to empower and engage its employees. In order to understand where efforts should be focused towards meeting this goal, Central San is conducing its first ever employee engagement survey. Staff has contracted with Cooperative Personnel Services (CPS) HR Consulting, whose Institute for Public Sector Employee Engagement division will conduct the survey. CPS HR currently works with hundreds of public agencies throughout the United States and is a public agency in itself. Staff engaged with representatives from the Local One and MS/CG bargaining units to collaboratively draft the survey. The baseline data from the survey will help Central San assess its strengths, identify gaps, and develop and implement an action plan to ensure high levels of engagement at all levels of the organization. Central San is committed to performing additional surveys in the future to assess employees' ongoing engagement levels. Staff anticipates deployment of the survey in early March, and the Board will be kept apprised of the progress and results. Staff will be available at the Committee meeting to answer any questions.
