ISSUE: Board of Directors' authorization is required for a medical leave of absence
without pay in excess of 30 days.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize extension of medical leave of absence without pay for
Senior Plant Operator Gordon Trapp..
FINANCIAL IMPACTS: Minimal.
ALTERNATIVES /CONSIDERATIONS: Deny extension of medical leave of absence
without pay.
BACKGROUND: Senior Plant Operator Gordon Trapp has been off work since
January 21, 2010, due to a medical condition. The Board previously approved a
medical leave of absence without pay for Mr. Trapp through September 30, 2010. He
has requested an extension of medical leave of absence without pay through
January 6, 2011.
This item has been reviewed by the Human Resources Committee at its October 13,
2010 meeting.
RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION: Authorize extension of medical leave of absence
without pay for Senior Plant Operator Gordon Trapp through January 6, 2011.
