SUBJECT: REVIEW OF THE PROPOSED "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, 2010 EDITION"
The agenda for the August 5th regular meeting of the Board of Directors includes a
public hearing to consider adoption of an ordinance to establish the "Standard
Specification for Design and Construction, 2010 Edition" as the District's Standard
Specifications.
An extensive outreach program was conducted to inform and solicit input from over 500
interested staff and external customers including engineers, contractors, developers
and other sewering agencies regarding the proposed standard specifications. Several
hundred comments were received, evaluated and incorporated into the documents
where appropriate.
In order to minimize use of paper to copy the documents 450 pages, staff has enclosed
a CD in the Agenda Packet that includes the following computer files:
• The proposed Standard Specifications for Design and Construction;
• The proposed Standard Drawings that are an appendix to the Standard
Specification; and
• The proposed "Approved Materials List" referenced extensively in the Standard
Specifications.
All of the files are in the Adobe Acrobat/Reader "pdf" format. If a "table of contents"
does not appear on the left side of the screen when a file is first opened, click on the
"bookmarks" tab to see a listing of the contents of the document. When you click on an
item in the list, the view will jump to that location in the document.
