General Manager Written Announcements December 19, 2019 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 254 of 260 Page 2 of 2 ATTACHMENT 1 Board Meeting of December 19, 2019 General Manager Written Announcements PROJECT UPDATES 1) Public Bidding for Treatment Plant Safety Enhancement, Phase 5, District Project 7364 The Treatment Plant Safety Enhancement, Phase 5, Project will install a new emergency exit stairway at the Solids Conditioning Building. The new stairway was identified as a necessary safety feature for egress from the third floor of the Building. The scope of work includes demolition, structural steel erection, lighting, and site work. This project will be advertised on January 6 and January 13, 2020. Bids are scheduled to be opened on January 30, 2020. The Engineer's estimate is $650,000. More information will be presented when the Board is asked to award the construction contract on February 20, 2020. TREATMENT PLANT 2) Electrical Testing to be Performed December 4, 2019 on Martinez Campus Following a January 16, 2019 treatment plant power failure, staff investigated the situation, repaired equipment, modified control settings, and performed preliminary testing to prevent such an outage from reoccurring. On December 4, 2019, Plant Operations and Plant Maintenance staff successfully tested the black start and load shed functions of the treatment plant's electrical system.
