OUT-OF-STATE CONFERENCES/WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE
1) Staff to Attend Citiworks User Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah
Asset Management Program Administrator Khae Bohan and GIS Analyst Ian Morales will
be attending the Cityworks User Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, from December 3-6,
2019. Mr. Morales will present on how Central San uses mobile devices to optimize
maintenance and operation processes by bringing GIS (geographic information systems)
and CMMS (computerized maintenance management software) to the field. As a member
of Cityworks' Customer Advisory Panel, he will meet with other organizations and
Cityworks management to provide input for the future development of the software.
The three-day professional conference will focus on the business of GIS-centric asset
management, where Mrs. Bohan will attend practical and technical sessions that address
asset management. Mrs. Bohan will be able to discover new ideas, develop new skills,
and experience hands-on learning to apply in her day-to-day work.
At Central San, Mrs. Bohan and Mr. Morales administer Cityworks supporting Collection
System Operations and Plaint Operations Divisions Operations and Maintenance
activities and Central San's comprehensive Asset Management Program. As Cityworks
clients, the registration fees have been waived for both attendees. Attendance at this
conference is included in the FY 2019-20 Planning and Development Services Division
Conference and Training Budget.
2) Staff to Attend International Maintenance Conference (IMC)/Certified
Reliability Leadership Workshop and Exam in Marco Island, Florida
Special Projects and Asset Management Group Senior Engineer, Nitin Goel, will be
attending the IMC Conference in Marco Island, Florida, from December 9-12, 2019 to
gain knowledge about tools for smart/big data implementation, leading trends for asset
management, and condition assessment technologies. At Central San, Mr. Goel is
leading the Asset Management Group and is Project Manager of the Steam and Aeration
Blowers Systems Improvement Project. Attending the conference will benefit both the
Asset Management Group and Steam and Aeration Blowers Systems Improvement
Project. Mr. Goel's attendance at this conference is included in the Fiscal Year 2019-20
Planning and Development Services Division Conference and Training Budget.
Mechanical Supervisor Matthew Mahoney and Maintenance Planner Jon Nicolaus will

every stakeholder as a Reliability Leader. The workshop includes lectures, audio and
video case studies from industry "thought leaders," and Uptime Magazine's Best
Maintenance Reliability Program Award Winners.
This unique workshop is designed to allow attendees to take back to their organizations
some of the industry's most advanced thinking in asset reliability and best practices for
immediate utilization. This event also is an excellent primer for the Certified Reliability
Leader (CRL) exam, and both Mr. Mahoney and Mr. Nicolaus will be participating in the
examination process at the workshop.
