BAILEY, GENERAL MANAGER SUBJECT: RECEIVE UPDATE ON STATUS AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CONTRACTUAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT (CAD)AND ALHAMBRA VALLEY ASSESSMENT DISTRICT (AVAD) PROGRAMS IN CONVERTING SEPTIC SYSTEMS TO SEWER CONNECTIONS At the July 9, 2019 Engineering & Operations Committee meeting, a request was made fora report on the number of completed CAD projects, number of septic tanks abandoned and remaining, associated costs, and other available figures. This memo presents that information. After reviewing a G IS (geographic information system) group-prepared spreadsheet of properties that are more than 100 feet from a sewer, about 400 developed, residential properties within Central San's boundaries were found to be currently using a septic system. Separately, at least another 100 residential properties were estimated to be adjacent to or within 100 feet of an existing sewer, but still using a septic system.
