BAILEY, GENERAL MANAGER SUBJECT: UPDATE ON THE MOST RECENT MEETING OF THE BAYAREA CLEAN WATER AGENCIES (BACWA) • February 5, 2019: Last Bi-Monthly Meeting with the Regional Water Board. • February 15, 2019: Last BACWA Executive Board Meeting. • March 8, 2019: Next Nutrient Strategy Steering Committee Quarterly Meeting. • March 15, 2019: Next BACWA Executive Board Meeting. • Second Nutrient Watershed Permit: The focus for BACWA has been on the Second Nutrient Watershed Permit. BACWA recently provided comments to the Regional Water Board on two administrative drafts of the next Nutrient Watershed Permit. A Tentative Order was issued on March 1 with comments due on April 2. It is scheduled for adoption at the May 8 Regional Water Board meeting. • The new Executive Officer for the Regional Water Board, Mike Montgomery, is expected to start around March 4. • Comment letters were submitted by BACWA and Central San to the State Water Board on new laboratory accreditation standards in February.
