General Manager Announcements October 18, 2018 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 33 of 46 Page 2 of 2 Board Meeting of October 18, 2018 General Manager Written Announcements CUSTOMER OUTREACH 1) Public Workshop Scheduled for October 23, 2018 Regarding Danville Sewer Renovation Project, Phase 3, District Project 8456 Central San will host a public workshop regarding the Danville Sewer Renovation Project, Phase 3, District Project 8456, on Tuesday, October 23, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building located at 400 Hartz Avenue in Danville. This meeting is specifically being held to discuss the relocation of house laterals from the existing sewer located in an easement to a new sewer to be constructed in the public right-of-way. All property owners affected by lateral relocation are invited to attend. The project will replace/rehabilitate approximately 5,000 feet of sewer main and 40 side sewers in the Las Lomitas neighborhood of Danville using open-cut and trenchless methods. Staff is in the process of contacting all residents who will be affected by easement work on their properties. Members of the public will be invited to a general public workshop in advance of project advertisement in the winter/spring of 2019, where they will learn more about the project and its potential impact on the surrounding neighborhood. OUT-OF-STATE CONFERENCE 2) Staff to Attend Public Risk Managers Association Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida Risk Management Administrator Shari Deutsch and Risk Management Specialist Laci Kolc will travel to West Palm Beach, Florida to participate in the 2018 Public Risk Managers Association (PRIMA) Institute from November 5-9, 2018. The Institute involves a small cohort of public risk managers from across the country who meet to discuss emerging risks, evaluate best practices employed by other entities, and to present sessions on recent successes, new case law and creative solutions to ongoing matters of concern in public risk management.
