General Manager Announcements September 20, 2018 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 133 of 134 Page 2 of 2 Board Meeting of September 20, 2018 General Manager Written Announcements STAFF TO PRESENT AT UPCOMING EVENTS 1) Staff to Present at San Francisco Bay Area Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP) Chapter Meeting Plant Maintenance Division Manager Neil Meyer will present on Central San's Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Pilot at the AMP meeting on October 4, 2018 held at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The workshop is intended for asset management professionals including asset managers, risk managers, engineers and maintenance professionals. The presentation discusses the development of Central San's reliability-based maintenance strategy, RCM pilots and other recent preventative maintenance optimization methods used by the maintenance division. Other workshop topics include 37 Years of Reliability-Centered Maintenance Experience by Anthony Mac Smith and RCM for High-Performance Computing Facility AHU by LLNL. 2) General Manager to Participate in Global Water Summit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in October 2018 General Manager Roger S. Bailey will be attending the American Water Summit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from October 23-26, 2018 in order to participate in a special speaking role in a session called What Does a Great Water Future Look Like and to participate in the Leading Utilities of the World sessions. Mr. Bailey has participated in several of these conferences at the request of the Global Water Leaders Group, including the upcoming summit. As with the previous conferences, Global Water Leaders will pay for all conference expenses. Mr. Bailey will be away from the office from Tuesday, October 23 through Friday, October 26. CALIFORNIA SPECIAL DISTRICTS ASSOCIATION 3) Update on Recent Election for California Special Districts Association Board Members Each of the California Special Districts Association's (CSDA's) six regional divisions has three seats (A-C) on the CSDA Board. Central San falls within the Bay Area Network (Region 3). Candidates seeking to represent a specific region must either be a board member or management-level employee of a member district located in their region. This year, Seat A was open for election. In July 2018, Central San's Board supported the election of Chad Davisson of Ironhouse Sanitary District to fill Seat A.
