General Manager Announcements September 6, 2018 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 112 of 135 Page 2 of 4 Board Meeting of September 6, 2018 General Manager Written Announcements LAFCO APPROVAL 1) LAFCO Approves DA 190 — Chang Property Reorganization, San Ramon At its August 8, 2018 meeting, Contra Costa Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO) approved District Annexation 190 — Chang Property Reorganization, San Ramon. The proposal, submitted to LAFCO by the primary developer, involved annexation of three parcels totaling 66.92 acres to the City of San Ramon, Central San and East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD). The purpose was to extend municipal services, wastewater and water to facilitate development of 43 new single-family large lot homes, 18 accessory dwelling units and one existing single-family residence. The reorganization area is located northwest of the Crow Canyon Road/Bollinger Canyon Road intersection in what was unincorporated San Ramon. OUT-OF-STATE CONFERENCES 2) Senior Engineer to Attend Annual Western Regional No-Dig Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona Senior Engineer Sasha Mestetsky will attend Western Society for Trenchless Technology's (WESTT) 14th Annual Western Regional No-Dig Conference, Exhibition, and Course from Monday, September 17 through Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona. WESTT, is a Western Chapter of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) that promotes its mission within the western region of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico. It is the premier trenchless conference and equipment show in the United States and provides an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the area of trenchless pipeline installation. Trenchless construction methods are less disrupting to the public, very cost effective, and are used extensively in pipeline rehabilitation. Staff attendance at this conference is included in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Technical Training, Conferences and Meetings budget. 3) Management Analysts to Attend Annual e-Builder Elevate Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida Planning & Development Services Division Management Analysts Bryan McGloin and Heather Ramamurthy will attend e-Builder's annual Elevate Conference from Tuesday, October 9 through Friday, October 12, 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. e-Builder is the vendor for Central San's upcoming Project Management Information System (PMIS) and this conference is their annual event where e-Builder users can share their experiences September 6, 2018 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Packet- Page 113 of 135 Page 3 of 4 Written Announcements September 6, 2018 Page 2 of 3 using the system and where vendor staff provide hands-on instruction regarding system options and best practices. Funding for this training conference is included in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Capital Project budget for District Project 8238, Asset Management Development Program. 4) Staff to Attend Annual NEOGOV Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada Human Resources Analyst Terrina Manor and Senior Administrative Technician Cindy Granzella will attend the NEOGOV Annual Conference from Wednesday, October 10 through Friday, October 12, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. NEOGOV is the applicant tracking software that is currently utilized by the Human Resources Division for all recruitment related activities. Topics that will be covered during the conference include, but are not limited to, updates on the latest features of NEOGOV, system administration and reporting, testing best practices, streamlining the online application process, onboarding new hires, and roundtable discussions on human resources topics/ challenges Staff attendance at this conference is included in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Technical Training, Conferences and Meetings budget. EMPLOYEE ACTIVITIES 5) Central San Blood Drive Central San is hosting a blood drive through the Blood Centers of the Pacific between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on September 25, 2018 in the Multi-Purpose Room. The opportunity to give back to the community by participating in the blood drive has been extended to all staff, temporary staff, students, and retirees. A flyer was emailed District- wide to staff and mailed to retirees providing registration information: visit www.bloodheroes.com using code CCCSD to make an appointment. The goal is to have 38 participants donate whole blood and double red cells.
