BAILEY GENERAL MANAGER SUBJECT: DISCUSS THREE-ACRE LEASE OF PORTION OF KIEWIT PROPERTYTO BAY CITI ES GRADI NG & PAVI NG FOR STORAGE On June 7, 2018, the Board conducted a public hearing to declare the remaining 18.2 acres of the Kiewit property as unneeded for District purposes and authorized the General Manager or his designee to lease the remaining portion. Staff was approached by Bay Cities Grading & Paving (Bay Cities) looking for a construction storage site for K-rail and other construction materials on the three-acre site. Staff has discussed the importance of routine maintenance to keep the site tidy and not allowing construction debris to be stockpiled onsite. The general lease terms include a two-year long lease at$3,000 per month and the provision that Bay Cities will provide 25,000 yards of clean fill material that will be used for the Flood Control Levee Project, which is estimated at approximately$300,000 in value. The lease is being negotiated with an expected occupancy mid-August. Staff is executing a lease agreement and providing this update as an informational item at the REE P Committee meeting. Staff will be available to answer any questions about the latest tenant.
