(Handout) Board Meeting of May 3, 2018 General Manager Written Announcements ENERGY CONSUMPTION 1) (REVISED) First Quarterly Update on Central San's Energy Usage Central San actively tracks greenhouse (GHG) emissions to optimize the use of energy at its facilities in the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. Attached is a breakdown of Central San's energy usage for the month of March 2018 along with a comparison of the energy used during the first quarter of the calendar year. The chart has been revised to clarify the cost for the purchase and transport of natural gas. RISK MANAGEMENT 2) FEMA Approves Contra Costa County Hazard Mitigation Plan On April 19, 2018 the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the Contra Costa County Hazard Mitigation Plan, including jurisdictional annexes for the 34 other agencies in the planning partnership. The Board adopted this five-year updated Plan and Central San's annex in March of 2018. OUT-OF-STATE CONFERENCE 3) Staff to Attend National Conference on Managing Electronic Records (MER) in Chicago, Illinois in May 2018 Lupe Saldana, Administrative Services Supervisor for the Records Management Program, will be attending the National Conference on Managing Electronic Records in Chicago from May 6 through May 9, 2018. The conference is in its 26th year providing educational sessions focused on the legal, technical, and operational aspects of managing electronic records. The conference offers more than 30 sessions including case studies detailing how other agencies have confronted electronic records management challenges and their lessons learned. The conference includes exhibitor demonstrations of technology products for managing records, including Versatile Enterprise which Central San utilizes to manage archived physical records.
