SUBJECT: ANNOUNCEMENTS - MARCH 1, 2018
PROJECT UPDATES
1) Recycled Water Clearwell - Dewatering, Cleaning and Repair Project
The Recycled Water Clearwell provides storage and chlorine contact time for recycled water prior to
delivery to the treatment plant and Zone 1 customers. The proposed project will dewater and clean the
West Cell of the Clearwell and install a temporary cover to add reliability to the recycled water system. I n
addition, the East Cell cover will be repaired.
This project will be advertised in March with a bid opening in April. The engineer's estimate is $975,000.
More information will be presented when the Board is asked to award the construction contract in April
2018.
OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL
2) Travel to California Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) Federal Legislative
Conference in Washington D.C.
Communications and Intergovernmental Relations Manager Emily Barnett will travel to Washington D.C. to
participate in the California Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) Federal Legislative Conference
from February 25 through February 28, 2018. She will hear from members of Congress and the
Environmental Protection Agency on issues relevant to CASA, and proposed legislation and regulations
that could affect Central San. The cost of this conference is included in the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Technical
Training, Conferences and Meetings Budget.
