The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) respectfully requests your support for
SCR 80 (Dodd), which will establish the first week of October as Water Professionals
Appreciation Week. October is a fitting month to honor our State's water professionals, as it is
the start of the new water year.
SCR 80 (Dodd) would create an annual Water Professionals Appreciation Week beginning the
first Saturday in October, and ending on Sunday of the following weekend. As events will be held
around the State, members of the Legislature will be available to attend events within the
communities they represent.
Water industry professionals ensure local public agencies convey and clean water for the benefit
of Californians. These critical roles deserve the opportunity to be honored for their diligent work.
An appreciation week also helps provide more context to Californians of the width and breadth of
the work needed to provide reliable drinking water, wastewater treatment, and recycled water.
SCR 80 also has the backing of State water sector associations including the: Association of
California Water Agencies, California Association of Sanitation Agencies, California Municipal
Utilities Association, California Water Association, California Water Environment Association, and
WateReuse of California.
For these reasons, Central San respectfully requests your support on SCR 80.
