Approval of Watershed Trunk Sewer'Installation Agreement
With Osmundsen Company
PROBLEM: The Osmundsen Company, at the direction of the District manage-
ment, has installed a section of the Watershed 27 trunk sewer. This
requirement was made as part of the approval process for Subdivision
4127 in Ygnacio Valley. Osmundsen was informed that such an installa-
tion was eligible for the privileges of Sections 97122 through 9-126 of
the Code (Old Ordinance 35) and they requested such credits.
2. BACKGROUND; The installation has proceeded as planned and is now ready
for approval and acceptance Osmundsen has complied with management
directives and code requirements.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve execution of agreement with Osmundsen Company
for Job 1998, Subdivision 4127, in Watershed 27, under the terms of
Code Sections 9-122 through 9-126.

The construction cost of the 12" VCP sewer line on our
Northgate Project was S35,855.00 MOO lineal feet at
:10.35 per foot). The engineering cost for same was
3685. This makes a grand total of S40,540,00 for all
engineering and construction costs for the 12" sewer
line at Northgate.
Hoping the above information will help you evaluate the
total reimbursement due The Osmundsen Co., on the 12" sewer

AGREEMENT
This agreement made and entered into this day of , 19
by and between , hereinafter referred to
as the Installer and the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, hereinafter referred
to as the District.
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, Installer proposes to construct and install under District Sewering
Code, Ordinances, and regulations, interceptor or trunk sewers of 12 inches or
greater diameter to provide sewer service to that sewage service area established
by District planning known as
NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed between the parties as follows:
1. This agreement is entered into under Sections 9 - 122 thru 9 - 126 of
the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District Sewering Code and it applies to the
Installer.
2. Installer shall comply with all Ordinances and regulations of the District
and shall follow a schedule of work required by District.
3. Installer shall, within 15 days after acceptance of the work by the
District, submit costs of the work in sufficient detail so that costs for the
installation eligible for credits for sewers 12 inches or greater in diameter
can be calculated separately from all other costs.
4. Installer shall, upon notification by the District of credits available,
designate in writing exactly to what extent such credits shall be applied to his
property.
5. District shall maintain records of costs and credits and shall collect
such sums as may be due from other properties than Installer's for connection
and use of sewers constructed by Installer. However, District is not legally
ob]igated to pay to Installer sums which it fails to collect.

Brochure developed by Envirotedh Corp.
. PROBLEM: The attached brochure describes a program developed by
Envirotedh Corporation, Muni, Equip. Division for the control,
operation and evaluation ofwastewater treatment. p1444,ts.
DISCUSSION: A program of this type would be eligible for E.P.A.
funding under Section 601.61 Class IV of their Rules and Regulations
for Research, Development and Demonstration Grants. The cost for
the attached program would be approximately $110,000 with $82,500
E.P.A. funding and $27,500 in kind District contribution.
ECOMNENDATION: It is felt that this program will enable modern
chniques to be applied directly to the operation of
a wastewater treatment facility enabling a more efficient and re-
liable operation.

SUBJECT: Victor M. Campos Claim
. PROBLEM; Claim for tire, wheel and hub cap damaged when he ran over
brake drum off tilt. trailer.
2. BACKGROUND: While headed west on highway 24 et about 8:30 a.m.,
October 19, 1971, the axle on the left rear of the tilt trailer broke.
The driver was able to pull to the far right and park. The wheel that
came off continued down the highway and came to rest against the BART
fence at Pleasant Hill Road overcrossing. The brake drum landed on the
roadway and was struck by Mr. Campos. The men were unable, because of
traffic, to get to the drum before it was hit.

4. RECOMMENDATION: I feel claim should be paid, because of obvious reasons.

amination for Senior Construction inspector.
BACKGROUND: In July, 1971, Mr. Bill. Ramsay was promoted:to Super-
vising Construction Inspector which created a vacancyfor a Senior
Construction, Inspector. It is our intention tohold the examination
at this time and make tha appointment of Senior Construction. Inspector,
January 1, 1972, salary range 54 ($1,031.-$1;254.)
