HomeMy WebLinkAbout10.a.2) General Manager Announcements 10.a.2) Board Meeting of June 1 , 2017 Written Announcements: PROJECT UPDATES a) Public Bidding for District-Wide Survey Monument Contract No. 2017-01 Central San routinely restores survey monuments due to sewer construction activities, as required by §6730.2 and §8771 of the California Business and Professions Code. The work primarily consists of rebuilding or installing new survey monuments in the streets to local jurisdiction standards. This contract will be advertised on June 9 and 14, 2017. Bids will be opened on June 27, 2017. The contract duration will be for three years and the engineer's estimate is $150,000. The cost for this contract will be paid for by projects in the Capital Improvements Program. More information will be presented when the Board is asked to approve the contract on July 20, 2017. SATELLITE WATER RECYCLING FACILITY UPDATE b) Update on Diablo Country Club Satellite Water Recvcling Facility (SWRFJ,Demonstration Project Staff has released the Initial Study and Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Diablo Country Club (DCC) Satellite Water Recycling Facility (SWRF) Demonstration Project, in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Copies of these documents have been distributed to the Board prior to this meeting. These documents were mailed out to local agencies and the interested project neighbors prior to the end of May 2017. Copies are also available on the Central San website. Two Community Input Meetings will be held at DCC on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., to receive public input on the Initial Study. These Open House-style meetings will be held with five stations set up throughout a DCC ballroom on the major elements of the project:. 1) Welcome and overview 2) Diversion structure and force main 3) SWRF and process solids return line 4) Pond storage and onsite recycled water usage 5) CEQA overview and comment card collection Written Announcements June 1, 2017 Page 2 of 2 Each station will include relevant poster board displays and a Central San staff member to explain the particular project element and answer questions. A notice of these meetings has been mailed to the Diablo and western Danville communities. In order to provide adequate details and ensure that the correct project impacts are being studied in the EIR, DCC will be hiring the Design-Build--Commission team concurrently with the CEQA process. Staff has reviewed DCC's draft Request for Proposals (RFP) and provided feedback. The approach is to provide a very limited amount of design details (<5%) to the team, and seek a guaranteed-maximum price. DCC currently estimates it will release the RFP in early June 2017.
