FROM. TEJI O'IIIIALLEY, HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
SUBJECT: INFORMATIONAL ITEM --- CALPERS HEALTH BEN FITS
PROGRAM
During the recent General Manager's State of the District presentation and in other
forums, staff and bargaining unit representatives have raised questions regarding the
cost of health care and other options that might be more cost effective to Central San.
In response to these questions, vire have begun investigating other health care
programs, and we have invited a representative from CaIPERS to provide a
presentation on their Health Benefits Program.
This is an informational presentation only. Staff is continuing to work with our benefits
broker, Alliant, to review all available health plans to ensure that Central San is doing its
due diligence when purchasing employee benefits.
