COMMUNITY OUTREACH
a) Central San to Host Two Customer Informational Workshops and
General Manager to Participate in Rossmoor Community
Informational Interview
Workshops:
Central San will be hosting two residential customer workshops to provide information on
the District's programs, services, proposed infrastructure improvements, financial outlook
and the vision for meeting the future needs of its customers. The workshops will be
hosted in the Lamorinda area and the southern portion of the service area to increase
opportunities for customers in those communities to interact with staff should they find it
difficult to attend meetings at the District headquarters in Martinez. Staff will be available
to share information and answer any questions. The workshops will be held during the
evening and structured to allow customers to come and go within the timeframe of each
workshop. The details for each workshop are:
Tri-Valley area workshop: Wednesday, February 8, 2017, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Danville Veterans Memorial Building
400 Hartz Avenue, Danville
Lamorinda area workshop: Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Orinda Community Center
28 Orinda Way, Orinda
Rossmoor Community Interview:
On January 30, 2017, Central San General Manager Roger S. Bailey will be interviewed
by the Chief Executive Officer for Rossmoor, Tim O'Keefe, for a televised program
regarding various subjected related to the District. The interview will be broadcast one or
more times (the day or dates have yet to be determined) on Rossmoor's local TV station,
which reaches nearly 10,000 residents in the Rossmoor community. Viewership for
Rossmoor's television programming is approximately 50 percent, which indicates that the
informative interview will reach approximately 5,000 Central San customers.
OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL
b) Collection System Operation Employee to Attend Vactor Training
in Illinois
Bennie Huie, Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic in the Collection System Operations
Division, will be traveling out of state to the VACTOR manufacturing plant in Streator,
Illinois to attend the VACTOR 2100 Plus Mechanics training from March 20 —23,
2017. He will leave on Sunday, March 19, 2017 and return on Friday, March 24,

2017. The training/class costs were included in the vehicle purchase price of Truck #295
and the travel costs were included in the Fiscal Year 2016 -17 Collection System
Operations Training and Travel Budget.
c) Manager to Attend National Association of Clean Water Agencies
(NACWA) Winter Conference from February 4-8, 2017 in Tampa,
Florida
Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Divis ion Manager Lori Schectel will attend the
NACWA 2017 Winter Conference from February 4 through February 8, 2017 in Tampa,
Florida. The conference will explore the balancing act among compliance, innovation and
affordability with water professionals, regulators, key stakeholders and leaders. The cost
of the NACWA Conference was included in the Fiscal Year 2016 -17 Technical Training,
Conferences and Meetings Budget.
CONTRACTS & AGREEMENTS – QUARTERLY UPDATE
d) General Manager Authorized Contracts, Agreements, Etc. - Fourth
Quarter 2016
The Board has delegated various authorities to the General Manager via resolution,
including the authority to enter into certain agreements and contracts on behalf of the
District. Additionally, the Board has requested an announcement when construction
projects have been accepted, which occurs when the Notice of Completion is recorded
with the County Recorder’s Office. Also, the Board has requested notification of certain
legal claim settlements. Below is a recap of each of these items for the period October 1
through December 31, 2016:
