PRUJECT UPDATE
a) Public 6igdina for the Plant control System Network Upgractes-
Fi6er Uptic installation, District Project 7317
Over the past 10 years the Plant Control System's communication system has
transitioned from Modbus Plus to Ethernet. As the use of Ethernet expanded, redundant
Tiber optic backbone lines were not installed. This project will install 5;800 feet of fiber
optic trunR lines. It is the first of two prujects to create a fully rcaundant t15er optic
bac0one.
This project will be advertised on June 8 and 15, zuiti. rhe bids are scheduled to Be
opened on June z8, z01(j. i he engineer's estimate Tur the work is $50,000.

5) Rcuent Sewer Summit Hosted by Planning and Development
Surviue Group
i He Planning and Development Services Division hosted a trio ut Sewer Summits on
Mai un z4 and April 26, 2016 to TUster customer engagement and awareness of the
Districts role in the develop,I ient process. Staff focused on ;ornmeiciai development and
�apauity tees Tor the municipalities servea by the District. The third Summit, held on May
19, 2uib, was geared toward develupeis and engineering firms to review mainline
extcnsiuns, inspection and the permitting pi ocess. The Division hosra more than 100
attendees this year at the three avcnts.
The Summit has yielded immediate impruvements to the District's relationships with the
agencies. Fur example: agencies are now iequidng contractors to obtain the Districts
signoff on job cards, prior to the building permits Being finaled. InspCctio�� requests have
risen as a result. i ne Summit program was well received and most attendees nave
expressed interest in attending the event ayain next year, which is currently sunedulea tar

c) Review of water Gonsumption Data for Dr. R. Jay Kerr
On November 20, 2u14, ur. H. Jay Kerr requested that the Board consider providing relict
trom staffs final deuisiu+► that a $2,158.20 capacity tee was owed for the additional
building constructed adjacent to an existing cummercial building. Dr. Kerr cuntendea that
no additional sewage wound be generated fium his new building. The Board requested
staff monitor water consumption data after uumpletion of the building and uumpare to the

zo14 baseline. Construction was completed in April 2015. Laat year was an a5normal

d) Annual Employee Apprudation Picnic Scneduled for August 17,
2016
►he Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic is scheduled for Wednesday; August 17, 2016
train 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in "Flushing Meadow" (the garden/lawn area next to the
RuasuMuld Hazardous Waste Cu►Icctiun Facility). Managers will be sewing Burgers; and
hot dugs with all the fixin's. The menu will include salads, chips, dCssCtff and beverages.
Boas d mern5e,s, current employees, som,i ger staaents, and co-ops are all invited to
attend. The event is not open to family mem5cis ur retirees.
