HomeMy WebLinkAbout05.a.7) General Manager Announcements a Board Meeting of April 21 , 2016 Written Announcements: PIPELINE NEWSLETTER RECOGNIZED a) The Pipeline Newsletter Wins Award of Distinction from California Association of Public Information Officials The District's Pipeline customer newsletter was recently recognized as one of the best public agency newsletters in the state by the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO). The 2016 "Award of Distinction" was presented to Communication Services & Intergovernmental Relations Manager Emily Barnett and Community Affairs Representative Bonnie Lowe at the annual CAPIO Conference on April 13. CAPIO has more than 400 members who provide public information, outreach, and communica- tion services for hundreds of cities, counties, and special districts throughout California, so this is quite an achievement for the Communication Services Division team and Central San. CONTRACTS UPDATE b) Recap of Contracts Signed by General Manager during First Quarter 2016 The Board has asked to receive quarterly reports of the professional consulting agreements entered into by staff that fall within the increased staff authority limits that became effective December 15, 2011. On that date, the limit on staff authority for professional consulting services agreements was raised by the Board from$50,000 to $100,000. This is a report of all professional consulting agreements entered into by staff which fall within the increased staff authority limits (over $50,000 and less than $100,000) and amendments that cause agreements to fall within this dollar range. Consulting All other contracts that are not "professional services" or"District Projects" such as maintenance services, equipment, chemicals, and supplies, do not require Board approval regardless of dollar amount. The Board approves the annual budget which includes the expenses that come from these contracts, so these contracts are not included in this report as they have historically been within staff authority.
