Amend agreement with Bienati Consulting Group for professional servicesCentral Contra Costa Sanitary District BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITION PAPER Board Meeting Date: April 7, 2016 Subject: 5, �4 AUTHORIZE THE GENERAL MANAGER TO AMEND AN EXISTING AGREEMENT WITH BIENATI CONSULTING GROUP FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT RELATED PROJECTS. Bailey General Manager ISSUE: Board of Directors' approval is required for the General Manager to amend an existing professional services agreement in an amount greater than $100,000. BACKGROUND: In 2014, the District entered into a professional services agreement with Bienati Consulting Group to undertake several organizational development related projects. Since that time, Mr. Bienati has assisted the District in completing the Strategic Plan; developed and implemented the Management Academy; provided leadership and team building coaching and training to the Executive team; assisted in the development of the District's Mentorship Program; as well as other related services. Due to Mr. Bienati's extensive knowledge of the District and workplace culture, staff is now recommending that the District retain Mr. Bienati's services for additional organizational development related projects. Specifically, the District would further utilize Bienati Consulting Group to provide one-on-one coaching to the Executive and Management team members as well as training on various leadership topics related to the group. This cost of this addition to the original scope of work is $110,000 bringing the total amount of the contract to a not to exceed amount of $194,000. The work being performed by Bienati Consulting Group is an alignment with Goal Three of the District's Strategic Plan, specifically Strategy 2 -Develop and implement District - focused leadership development program and Strategy 3 -Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring, and development resources for staff to be successful in current and future positions. ALTERNATIVES/CONSIDERATIONS: Do not authorize the General Manager to amend the professional services agreement with Bienati Consulting Group. FINANCIAL IMPACTS: The additive cost of this amendment is $110,000. COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its March 28, 2016 meeting, the Administration Committee recommended approval / did not recommend approval of this action to the Board. RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION: Authorize the General Manager to execute an amendment to an existing Professional Services Agreement with Bienati Consulting Group in the amount of $110,000 from $84,000 to $194,000 for professional services related to several organizational development projects.
