SUBJECT: DISTRICT -WIDE TRAINING
The District recognizes that a well-trained and highly developed workforce is vital to the
success of any organization. In addition, providing comprehensive training to
employees is in alignment with the District's Strategic Plan and is one of the attributes of
Effective Utility Management (EUM).
As such, the District has undertaken many training efforts since March 2015 when
District -wide training was consolidated and moved under the purview of the Human
Resources Division as was recommended by the Raftelis Staffing Assessment.
The following table is a list of both District -wide and Division specific training and the
anticipated schedule:

Group has developed

incorporates training

CA Boiler Code, and
503 regulations.
The Safety Group
has developed a
training matrix

three years.
Various vendors and
engineers have
offered to provide
presentation on new
and innovative
technology and
techniques
ins was also set forth in the Raftelis assessment, the addition of a Training Coordinator
position is being proposed as part of the FY 2016-17 Staffing Plan. Once this position
has been added, the District plans to develop and implement a more robust training
program which will outline all current training needs as well as develop and implement
long range training needs.
