Our Recycled Water permit requires that the District: Tracks volume of recycled water Tracks names of customers Tracks where the water is being applied -- Provides some basic training about where to and where not to use the recycled water Proposed Automated Fill Station • Automated system includes a permanent meter • Customers are assigned a PIN code • Turnkey system with meter, valves, electronics, batteries, etc. • Connects to existing hydrant at Kiewit property • Solar powered r- - -- 11/17/15 2 Benefits — Better access to Recycled Water for customers who do not have a meter — Potential increase in number of customers (not limited by number of meters) — Pilot project that, if successful, can be implemented at other hydrant locations — No need to purchase and maintain additional meters Staff Recommendation 1. Approve a Contingency project for $115,000 for installation of an automated commercial truck fill station on the Kiewit property 2. Approve a supplemental authorization of $85,000 from the Sewer Construction Fund to the Recycled Water Contingency account 11/17/15 3
