HomeMy WebLinkAbout06.a.3) General Manager Announcements6 Board Meeting of November 19, 2015 Written Announcements: PROJECT UPDATE a) Public Bidding for Pleasant Hill - Grayson Creek Trunk Sewer, District Project 8412 The Pleasant Hill- Grayson Creek Trunk Sewer project will install approximately 9,300 linear feet (LF) of new trunk sewers (18 inches to 24 inches) within public rights -of -way, 1,000 LF of replacement sewer mains, three 36" casings for utility crossings, and abandoning several old sewers along Grayson Creek and Pleasant Hill Road within the City of Pleasant Hill and Martinez. Construction methods utilized in this project will include open- trench and tunneling. This project will be advertised on November 30 and December 4, 2015. The bid opening is scheduled for January 15, 2016. The Engineer's estimate is currently at $10,400,000. More information will be presented when the Board is asked to award the construction contract on February 18, 2016. OUT -OF -STATE CONFERENCE b) Risk Management Administrator Shari Deutsch Attended Out -of- State PRIMA Institute Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico - November 4 -6, 2015 Risk Management Administrator Shari Deutsch attended the PRIMA Institute Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico from November 4 -6, 2015. This conference, sponsored by the Public Risk Management Association, is a premier education program for risk managers as well as those dealing with the human resources and employee benefits. Seminars include Human Resources, Management & Risk, Civil Interests & Law Enforcement, Workers' Compensation and Cyber Risk. Ms. Deutsch's attendance at the conference was included in the Fiscal Year 2015 -16 Technical Training, Conference and Meetings Budget.
