Labor Negotiations Planning
Overview
• In October of 2014, the Board directed
staff to develop a labor negotiations
schedule.
— Schedule was to outline all milestones and
tasks related to the next round of labor
negotiations scheduled to take place in 2017.

Labor Negotiations Planning
• Purpose:
— Allows for the Board, staff, and bargaining
units to be proactive.
— Provides for transparency.
— Supplies ample time for in -depth analysis of
major issues related to bargaining.
• Gantt chart was developed and is
presented as a standing item on the
Administration Committee agenda.
Labor Negotiations Planning
• Gantt chart is color coded to delineate
tasks that are assigned to the Board, staff,
and others.
• Progress of each task is updated prior to
each Administration Committee meeting.
• Any obstacles /issues related to any tasks
are discussed in detail at the
Administration Committee meeting.
