OUT -OF -STATE CONFERENCES
a) Attendance at the American Records Managers Association
(ARMA International) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. —
October 5 -7, 2015
From October 5 -7, 2015, Administrative Services Supervisor- Records Lupe Saldana will
attend the ARMA International 2015 Conference in Washington, D.C. ARMA is a
nonprofit organization that provides information professionals the resources, tools, and
training they need to effectively manage records. The conference will provide educational
sessions on various topics covering physical and electronic records management
including legislative and regulatory updates, standards and best practices, software
technologies, etc. The cost of this conference is included in the Fiscal Year 2015 -16
Budget.
b) Attendance at the NEOGOV Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada —
October 14 -16, 2015
From October 14 -16, Human Resources Analyst Judy Rivers will attend the NEOGOV
Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. NEOGOV is the applicant tracking software
that is currently utilized by the Human Resources Division for all recruitment related
activities. Topics that will be covered during the conference include, but are not limited to,
updates on the latest features of NEOGOV; system administration; testing best practices;
streamlining the online application process; onboarding new hires; and roundtable
discussions on HR topics /challenges The cost of this conference is included in the Fiscal
Year 2015 -16 Budget.
ADMINISTRATIVE
c) Updated Template for Board Position Papers
The District recently modified the template for position papers (aka staff reports) for items
brought before the Board as part of the agenda packets to eliminate redundancies and
improve clarity with regard to items presented for Board consideration. The changes are
explained below:
1. Under the BACKGROUND section, statements will be included, when applicable,
as to:
a. Any tie -in the item has with the District's Strategic Plan Goals and Initiatives;
Mission, Vision and Values; and /or Board policies; and

b. Project priority information (for capital projects).
2. A new section entitled "CEQA" will be included, when applicable, to include any
relevant information about the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
process.
3. A new section entitled "COMMUNITY OUTREACH" has been added. This section
will be included if the item affects the public and public outreach has been or will
be conducted.
4. Several of the existing sections were reordered.
