Recognized for discontinuing use of mercury- containing fillings for more than 15 years, using all digital (vs. chemical) photo /x -ray processing system and using organic cleaning products Republic Services Recognized for operating a 3,500 - gallon recycling system on their wash pad, saving water and discharging very little treated wastewater to the sanitary sewer 5 2015 P2 Week Resolution Acknowledgements • Partnerships - Household Hazardous Waste Facility • Served over 400,000 customers • Over 32 million pounds since inception - Contra Costa Green Business Program - Contra Costa Clean Water Program - Pharmaceutical Disposal Program • Almost 70,000 pounds since February 2009 • Education and Outreach Programs - Over 6,000 students each year In Conclusion Recommend adoption of Resolution 2015 -033 declaring September 21 -27, 2015 Pollution Prevention Week in the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District 6
