HomeMy WebLinkAbout03. New Connection Fee Bundles Update3. Central Contra Costa Sanitary District May 26, 2015 TO: FINANCE COMMITTEE FROM: TOM GODS NIOR ENGINEER SUBJECT: NEW CONNECTION FEE BUNDLES UPDATE In July, 2014 the Permit Counter created a new "bundled" fee that permitted upper sewer lateral connections at completed foundation for residential buildings. Typically this activity was restricted until the structures were roofed and rough plumbing was installed — to safeguard the sewer collection system from construction debris. The bundled fee includes the traditional (typical) fees plus $360 that represents two additional inspections. Customers have been offered the option of either approach since July, 2014. The new option has been well received. Since the program was introduced there have been approximately 330 residential connection permits issued. Within those residential connections there have been 147 permits with the new bundled fee (connection occurring at foundation) and 183 permits with the standard connection at roof and rough plumbing. Feedback from customers has been very favorable.
